My Fluffy Pillows

Washington DC

Surprisingly, the nation's capital did not seem as boring as I thought it was going to be. We spent a day roaming The National Mall, entering countless museums and walking under the scorching sun from one monument to the next and covered the tour entirely on foot.

That day, I learnt that sometimes, objects appear far closer than they seem. We walked from the US Capitol to the Lincoln Memorial, which is 3km apart. In between, we stopped by at a couple of National Museums and the Washington Monument. I'd say that we easily covered a distance of 10km that day.

One of the perks that day was that the entrance to all the museums were FREE! We basically paid for the bus ride from NY to DC and toured DC without spending a singe cent, except for meals and some drinks. Plus, the museums have water coolers! Haha. The cheapos we are.

The Washington Monument with the sun correctly angled and 2 clowns having fun photo taking.

At the Lincoln Memorial, too tired to jump. Plus, the place was crowded.

The man himself (I wonder if any tourist clasped their hands in prayer in front of Abraham after witnessing what they did to the Merlion)

The Washington Memorial viewed from the Lincoln Memorial against the Reflecting Pool.

At the White House where Bush is serving his final term.
