My Fluffy Pillows

What I miss about the US (Part 6)

Cold Stone Ice-cream~

Over at Cold Stone, they don't just scoop the your choice of ice-cream into a cup or a cone waffle. Instead, you get to choose from their signature creations or you can create you own. That means besides selecting the flavour of your ice-cream, you also get to decide what other goodies you will like to include. Goodies ranging from strawberries, oreos, nuts, raisins, sweets are displayed teasingly in transparent jars in front of the counter.
After your selection, the ice-cream will be manually mixed together with the goodies using scoops and tossed into perfection to fit the cup or cone. Then, the delicious serve of your special order is ready to be savoured.

My order in action!

Besides the cool ice-cream, their service is warm, friendly and really fun. Let me recall the scene during my 1st encounter with Cold Stone at the Kodak Theaters:

Cashier: "Hey! Guess what?"
Other staff echos: "What?"
Cashier: "We just got a tip!"
Other staff sings "Oh yeah! Zip-a-dee-doo-da! Zip-a-dee-yay! My oh my, what a wonderful day!......"(to the tune of some cartoon flick or something)

And over at another outlet close-by Fisherman's Wharf, it went like this:

Staff singing to the tune of The Addam's Family: "We're happy and we hollar, because we got a dollar....... The Cold Stone Family! "
"Ta da da da" *clink clink* repeat 5x (The clink sound is made by slapping the scoops)

Haha. I think they really market themselves well as a fun-loving and cool place to chill out admist the warm reception!~
